Two Wheel Promotions have postponed the Escape Marathon this year.  HOWEVER so you are not dissappointed The South Burnett Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) will be hosting a fund-raising ride  for the PYPC on the Rail/Trail approx 31km starting and finishing at Blackbutt.

BVRT_logocolor_webWe are excited to announce a new style ESCAPE Marathon featuring the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Stock routes and forestry dirt roads.   Set in the beautiful South Burnett Regional area of Blackbutt and Yarraman.  These timbertowns are steeped in history and picturesque scenery.
You'll get to explore the newly constructed rail/trail network  and ride along the old rail networks seeing all the area has to offer, and onto historic stock routes and Benarkin State foresty dirt roads & trails. Wide variety of animals & plant variety  can be seen in the area from hoop fine plantantions, dense scrub, open woodlands & rural landscapes.  Listen to the bellbirds as you ride along.
The Timbertowns ESCAPE Marathon is part of the "Bloomin Beautiful Blackbutt Festival" so there will be plenty to do for your friends and family while you are out there on course and when you get back to come and enjoy the festivities.  
Sunday is race day but why not come up on Saturday and enjoy some of the Festivals activities and register early for the race and avoid the early morning rush on Sunday.

Located in the South Burnett region Blackbutt is just 2 hours drive from Brisbane

Located on top of Australia's Great Dividing Range just 2 hours drive north-west of Brisbane (via the Bruce & D'Aguilar Highways or the Warrego , Brisbane Valley & D'Aguilar Highways) and directly west of the Sunshine Coast.  Blckbutt can be reached on the D'Aguilar Highway up the rugged and picturesque Blackbutt range.

The course will be a loop starting &  finishing at Blackbutt Showgrounds, Bowman Rd, Blackbutt.



Your family and friends will be entertained by the band from 12 noon till 4pm while you are riding and when you get back you can sit down relax and enjoy the band.
Great kids playground adjascent to Showgrounds and Festival activities on during the day at the Blackbutt Festival.



There is not a lot of accommodation available in Blackbutt.  So we suggest that you book early if you wish to secure accommodation closest to the start.  You can also find accommodation in outlying areas within easy driving distance to the venue.
Camping:  Camping is available at the Blackbutt Showgrounds which will be the start/finish for the Marathon.  Camping fee applies payable to the showground.

There is a range of accommodation ranging from camping, motel,pub and Bed & Breakfast.   The closest areas to the start are Blackbutt, Yarraman, Moore, Esk, Nanango
